The Prince of Cups is the airy part of Water: on one side flexibility, volatility, hydrostatic equilibrium; on the other the properties of a catalyst and the energy of steam. In the Tetragrammaton he corresponds to the letter Vau: the son of the Queen Queen of Cups and the Knight Knight of Cups, the active offspring of their union, which is why he is in a chariot and his action is prolonged. He rules the Zodiac from 21° Libra to 20° Scorpio.
Subtlety, secret strength, and cunning reaching the level of an art. Outwardly the Prince is calm and imperturbable, but this is a mask behind which the most powerful passion is concealed; apparently subject to external influences, he accepts them only in order to transform them and use them for his secret purposes.
