Interpretation
This is a personal significator card: it carries no meaning of its own but stands in a spread for a specific man. Pay no attention to how he is dressed, what pose he is in, or which direction he is looking — none of that matters. First and foremost this card represents the querent themselves, when reading for a man. When reading for a woman, it is a man who matters to her: her husband (if she is married, always her husband), a partner, lover, son, father, brother, colleague, or doctor — context will tell you which. Whichever man it is and what to expect from him, the neighbouring card will explain: any card beside him describes this person — his character, profession, abilities, and interests. When The Man appears in a spread not concerned with people, the masculine principle applies: activity, decisiveness, boldness, enterprise, and a readiness to give. The card advises action — step forward, take the initiative, offer something.
Life Areas
For him — to love and believe in himself, to go after what he wants, to present himself with confidence. For her — this is her steady partner or husband, he is on her side and can be counted on for support; or it is the meeting with a man she will fall for. Right now this man is playing the leading role in the family.
For him — to stand his ground, to decide and act in the way that is best for him. For her — this man matters to her career and will support her; his opinion is worth listening to. In business, the counsel is to lean on the men around you, to show firmness and character. The card carries no financial meaning on its own — look to the neighbouring card for that.
The male reproductive system and the body in general; a call to take care of yourself, live healthily, and seek out treatment more actively. Points to a male doctor. For a woman it may indicate hormonal imbalances or thyroid issues.
Person / Character
The core of the card. On its own it carries no meaning — it only indicates the gender of the person in question; everything else is read from the neighbours. Typically it shows masculine energy: sexuality, strength, firmness in action, consistency, movement toward a goal. In relationships, this is usually the most important and closest partner — often the one who holds the pair together. In career matters — a boss, manager, colleague, or sometimes a competitor. In character — pronounced masculinity, drive, decisiveness, responsibility; often self-centred, centred on their own perspective. These same traits can also be attributed to a strong, commanding woman in a leadership role.

Position №28 in the Grand Tableau
In the Grand Tableau, The Man is not merely a house but the reading's point of origin when the querent is male: the entire reading is built from him. Cards to his right = the future, to his left = the past, above = thoughts and goals, what is on his mind; below = the foundation, what he stands on. The closer a card is to the significator, the stronger and sooner its influence; the further away, the weaker and later. If The Man and The Woman are far from each other, the connection between them is weak or absent. The nearest surrounding cards and the corner cards around the significator give the overall context of the here and now.
Timing
An active card: it tells you that movement is present and that now is the time to be active — start acting. It does not speak to speed on its own. Rough reference points: 28 minutes, the 28th (or 10th) of the month, 10 o'clock; distance — within walking range.
Symbolism & Attributes
Mythology
The Man is the symbol of the rational, logical principle — of active self-expression in the outer world, extroversion, and fearlessness. He is the archetype of the Father in the unconscious, who establishes the way of engaging with society and with the law. The impulse of the masculine principle is to expand oneself to the dimensions of the universe.
