Lenormand card combinations
The heart of reading Lenormand isn't a single card, but a pair. Here is the method of combinations and the key pairings of all 36 cards.
How to read pairs
A single Lenormand card almost always gives an incomplete answer. Meaning is born in the pair: the first card sets the theme (the noun), the second describes it (the adjective or consequence). For example, "House + Bouquet" — a beautiful, joyful home; "Bouquet + House" — a gift for the family.
Order changes the meaning. "Fish + Scythe" — a sudden loss of money; "Scythe + Fish" — after a sharp event money arrives. So a pair should be read left to right, keeping in mind which card is the foundation and which is the description.
Special cards
Some cards strongly recolour their neighbours: the Mountain blocks and distances, the Fox distorts and makes things false, the Scythe cuts things off sharply, the Mice wear down and diminish, the Cross weighs things down with fate. And on the other hand — the Sun and the Clover soften the negative and add luck.
